A special performance of Janet Langhart Cohen's Anne & Emmett will be held on Saturday evening, April 27 for the benefit of the Maryland Lynching Memorial Project. The acclaimed one-act play is an imaginary conversation between Anne Frank and Emmett Till, both victims of racial intolerance and hatred. Frank is the 13-year-old Jewish girl whose Diary provided a gripping perspective of the Holocaust. Till is the 14-year old African-American boy whose brutal murder in Mississippi sparked the Modern American Civil Rights Movement.
The performance begins at 7:30p. There is an option to attend a special VIP reception at 6:00p where you can meet the playwright, Janet Langhart Cohen, and her husband, former Defense Secretary and US Senator, Wm. Cohen.
